The door lock led light will blink.
Maytag front load washer door locked blinking.
The top panel will then pull straight back up and off.
Pull on this tab to manually unlock the door.
The lid will lock and the machine will enter a pump out mode for 8 minutes.
During this period you will be able to hear the pump running.
Our maytag maxima steam washer has a flashing yellow light next to door locked the door won t open and the machined cannot be turned on.
This happened when i forgot to turn the water on.
It stopped right after it dispensed the detergent and i ve tried all of the not so helpful repair advise on the maytag website and i still can t get it unlocked.
The washer will go into a hold and drain routine for 8 minutes.
If the washer has an f8 e1 error or lo fl error the door will be locked and the control will be unresponsive.
If it still won t work then unplug the washer and remove the screws coming in from the back of the top panel.
If it does not detect both water supply hoses are turned on the control detects a problem with the water pressure sensor.
Press the power button and the washer will start a drain routine which takes approximately 8 to 10 minutes during which time the pump will run continuously.
This washer has sensors that detect the water supply and requires both hoses to have water going to the water valve.

The door should unlock after 60 seconds.
Wait approximately 2 minutes for control to reset.
Run a drain and spin cycle.
First it had a code blinking that i looked up and it was for the water so i turned it on and now it is making a humming noise and the door is locked and that is all it will do.
The door may immediately unlock.

Now you can reach down to the bottom of the door latch where there is a 1 round plastic tab.
The control will not accept any input during this time.
The lid lock is a default feature of your maytag front loading and top loading washer to prevent opening the appliance while the cleaning cycle is in progress.
Reconnect power to washer plug in.
